I also think its unique you capture sunlight in the center of your photos as a focal point. It reminds me of one of the themes of the gothic or romanesque period of art that I'm really fond of. Its marked by dark heavy bold architecture, but that was so the windows facing the sun would put emphasis on the light.
I believe the idea was to focus on how important hope was to people and how important hope, signified by light, means to people in dark times. The darker things are around you, the more the light has emphasis.
